The Big Trip: Chapter 1
July 17, 2006Late Night, Early Morning
On the night of June the 18th late, about 11:30 at night my family and I left for Branson MO. We had been to Branson many times but no trip had been like this one, because on this particular trip my grandmother was traveling with us.
As we entered the inner city of St. Louis headed south Paul hollers “look drag racers” as I turn my head I see two speeding cars fly past us at about 120 mph. We knew they were drag racers by the way the engines sounded and the way there cars were decorated.
We traveled through the night till we reached Branson at about 4:30am we unloaded the van as quickly as we could in a 4:30am state of mind, then hurried off to bed as quick as we could, and finally got there at about 5:30 am. Boy did we sleep good.
Then about 8:30am the fire alarm sounded. We stumbled out of bed and got a few things gathered and rushed out the door. It had awakened everyone in the building except the person who set it off.
My grandmother was one of the last ones out because she had thought the alarm clock in her and my little sister Joanna’s room was what the noise was coming from. So instead of get ready to go outside she and my little sister were trying to fix the alarm clock that wasn’t broke.
Later that day we found out that the reason we were so rudely awakened was that someone was cooking breakfast and had forgot to watch there bacon. We all purposed right there in our minds that from now on when we cook breakfast there we will be more careful to watch the bacon.
